12. Talking HeadsRemain In Light

Talking Heads have been our favourite right from the start. They were also influenced by Fela Kuti a lot, which you can hear. The classic song that gets me all the time is ‘Once In A Lifetime’. I remember seeing a documentary about how David Byrne visited a lot of Pentecostal churches, and would sit and listen to the preachers – hence the way he delivered that whole preacher-esque part. I think I first heard it just before we recorded our first album.
