Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

10. Terry RileyLive In Köln, 1975

It’s a bootleg I came across about six years ago or so. I’m a fan of both of them individually but that live recording specifically I think is like a sunrise in my mind, it can really put you in a placid place no matter where you are. I originally heard it on the internet, I was driving in a car through a big skied area in the US on the West Coast, like Montana or something. It was perfect, the perfect soundtrack. I really don’t know too much about that particular recording other than that. I guess I like to find out more about someone’s personal background rather than the technical side of things. There’s something about taking music at face value and enjoying it, that’s something that took me a while to get back towards.
