Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

5. Stora Popboxen – Svensk Pop 1964-1969

Three-disc box set – it means "big pop box" – that tells the story of Swedish sixties pop chronologically. That’s it, very simple, with good sleeve notes. There were an unbelievable number of beat groups there considering the population was under 8 million. Listening groups like the Mascots, ’14’ and Tages, it seems the Zombies and the Kinks were a big influence. Plum tracks – ‘A Sad Boy’ by the Mascots and ‘Summer Sun’ by the Beathovens.
