Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. Imogen HeapSpeak For Yourself

I mean, god. Wasn’t this record just… I mean, this record changed a lot. I don’t know what to say about it, it’s just so good. Whenever Imogen Heap is doing interviews and stuff, or whenever you hear her create, or if there’s a little profile piece on her, it’s always really inspiring. She’s so cool. And she wrote this incredible record, these amazing songs; the songwriting is so good, and the way that it’s composed is so good, and just the use of voices, and layers, and technology. She did something that changed things, began things. That record definitely caused a shift.
