Warp Records is reissuing two classic albums from its back catalogue, F.U.S.E.’s (AKA Richie Hawtin) Dimension Intrusion and Speedy J’s Ginger.
Newly remastered, both albums will be made available on vinyl for the first time since their original 1993 release to mark their 30th anniversary. The two records originally came out as part of Warp’s Artificial Intelligence series, which the label has recently been revisiting via a series of reissues that included an updated vinyl outing for the classic Artificial Intelligence compilation late in 2022.
Dimension Intrusion saw Richie Hawtin take inspiration from Detroit techno and sci-fi films across its 13 tracjs. Marking Hawtin’s first release under the F.U.S.E. moniker, the album was made using a collection of vintage synthesisers and drum machines.
Originally released two weeks after Dimension Intrusion, Ginger saw Rotterdam’s Jochem Paap, AKA Speedy J, set out to make a record that made his rave and techno-focused sound more palatable for home listening. He wrote and recorded the album by himself at his The Plant studio.
Warp Records will release Dimension Intrusion and Ginger on November 10, 2023.
