Infrastructure marks 25 years in 2023 since its initial launch

Function is relaunching his Infrastructure New York label with a brand new four-track EP, Green.

Out in May, the EP's release will mark 27 years since Function, real name David Sumner, put out his first records, and 25 years since the launch of Infrastructure New York. The comeback of the label will provide an outlet for Sumner to put out his own new material as well as that of others, in addition to reissues of his out-of-print records on labels like Synewave, Sandwell District, Ostgut Ton and Infrastructure itself.

Launched in 1998, Infrastructure New York put out records by the likes of Regis and Rrose, as well as Sumner under various guises, during its initial 19-year run. The label went into hiatus after the release of Damon Wild's 2017 album Cosmic Path.

To mark the imprint's comeback, Sumner has launched a dedicated Bandcamp page and online storefor Infrastructure New York. Releases that were previously out of stock, as well as reissues and unreleased older Function material, will be made available via both platforms in the future.

Infrastructure New York will release Green on May 8, 2023.
