James Brown – Live At The Apollo

Another album I would have heard pretty much when it was first released. The performance on this album, James Brown was just on top form. The whole band was amazing. And also, with a live album, if it’s a good night, which it certainly was that night, there’s just an electricity to it that comes across. What a stellar album this is. It kind of surprises me when you see James Brown performances, he’s dancing and doing the vocals and everything, but his ear can hear any off note and he’ll let the band know about it if there’s even the slightest mistake made. I just don’t have that same type of mindset.
