Both my parents were big fans of Louis Armstrong and they had the records at the house, so very early on I was listening to Louis Armstrong and then later to Ella Fitzgerald. Louis Armstrong’s influence on jazz is so profound. Certainly, jazz music would have been much different without his talent.
