Mute To Release Third In Can Live Album Series, ‘Live In Cuxhaven 1976’

The series, which kicked off in January 2021, has been pieced together from a collection of bootlegged recordings of the band performing live

Mute and Spoon Records have shared details of the third instalment in their series of Can live albums, Live In Cuxhaven 1976.

The record comes with sleeve notes written by French author Pascal Bussy, who previously co-authored the 1989 book The Can Story. Talking about the band’s live presence in a statement, Bussy said: "Until the end, Can gigs were not only logical extensions of their studio work, they were definitely a work in itself. And we are so fortunate to still have a lot to discover." You can listen to a short snippet of Live In Cuxhaven 1976 above.

The series of Can live albums, comprised of various bootleg recordings, kicked off in January 2021 with the release of Live In Stuttgart 1975. It was followed last December by Live In Brighton 1975.

Mute / Spoon will release Live In Cuxhaven 1976 on October 14, 2022.
