Moor Mother – Fetish Bones

What she's doing is completely unique. I've not heard anything like her approach from any other artist, so it just stands out musically, in terms of the spoken word, the poetry, the lyrics, then mixed with those heavy samples and heavy beats. There was an industrial punk element to it, but then a freshness with all of that.

We were fortunate enough to be able to set up The Moog Lab as a residency at the Birmingham Conservatoire. We basically had all this amazing kit and I knew that Moor Mother used a lot of synthesisers and this would be quite exciting for her. I thought that she would be the perfect artist to come in. We weren't expecting new tracks or anything like that. It was more just to play with the technology, play with the equipment, and have some creative time. We're always trying to evolve what the offer is and there are always new projects. This year we'll be doing something completely different.
