Black Midi Reveal New Track, ‘Chondromalacia Patella’

They're also hosting a listening party for new album 'Cavalcade' via YouTube later this month

black midi have unveiled a third cut from their forthcoming album, Cavalcade.

‘Chondromalacia Patella’, which you can watch a video for above, takes its name from the knee injury that an unnamed member of the band sustained while running. It follows on from previously released tracks ‘Slow’ and ‘John L’.

In addition to the new song, black midi have unveiled details of a listening party for Cavalcade, which they’ll host via YouTube at 7pm BST on May 26. The listening party will give fans the opportunity to hear the album in full ahead of its release.

Finally, the band have confirmed details of a golden ticket contest, through which one golden ticket will be inserted into a vinyl copy of the new album in the US, and another into a vinyl copy in the UK.

Anyone who buys the album in either country could receive the golden ticket and will be eligible to claim either a free performance from the band at an event of their choice; a day in the studio with the band for a creative collaboration; or guestlist spots for two people for all future worldwide black midi headline live shows for 10 years. Find the full rules for the contest here.

Rough Trade will release Cavalcade on May 28, 2021.
