Slikback has self-released his debut album.
Comprised of 30-tracks, /// is available via the producer’s Bandcamp page. He describes it as "a reflection of different vibes and emotions that make me," adding that it "combines some of my newer complete works, sketches, early stuff and materials cut from previous releases and moods onto a single canvas."
The album features a number of collaborations, including with Uganda’s Swordman Kitala, Germany’s STSK and Poland’s Morgiana Hz. "The whole album is quite rough but wanted to capture these moments as they were, a snapshot of something," Slikback says.
The release of /// follows on from a split 12" with Soda Plains that Slikback put out on PAN earlier this year, as well as a track on Houndstooth’s just-released Alterity compilation. The producer has also released a number of records via Nyege Nyege Tapes sub-label Hakuna Kulala in recent years, becoming a core artist within the Nyege Nyege collective.
