Regis has teamed up with UK artist Ann Margaret Hogan for a new tape titled Reversing Into Tomorrow.
Released today (August 20), the cassette marks the latest instalment of Boomkat Editions’ ongoing Documenting Sound series, for which a number of artists – including Sarah Davachi, Hieroglyphic Being and Mark Leckey – have been invited to produce mostly improvised music within their homes or immediate surroundings during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Reversing Into Tomorrow, as per Boomkat’s release notes, takes in "electronics, Wurlitzer organ, shortwave radio signals, bells, and Hogan’s baby grand Piano," and was recorded earlier this year. You can hear clips via Boomkat.
This is the second time Regis and Hogan, who’s worked with the likes of Nick Cave, Lydia Lunch and Marc Almond in the past, have collaborated this year. Hogan guested on Regis’ Hidden In This Is The Light That You Miss which came out in May and was Regis’ first full-length album in 19 years. Hogan also released an album called Honeysuckle Burials earlier this year.
Reversing Into Tomorrow is out now on Boomkat Editions.
