Ryuichi Sakamoto & Laurie Anderson Team Up For Project

The pair are responsible for the latest instalment of the Japanese artist's 'incomplete' series

Ryuichi Sakamoto and Laurie Anderson have collaborated on the latest instalment of the former’s incomplete series.

Launched last month via his YouTube account, Sakamoto’s incomplete project has seen him "document the sensations [he’s] been feeling." Speaking at the time of the project’s launch, Sakamoto added: "I invited a few of my musician friends to do this with me. I wanted to share the results with you all."

Alva Noto, Lenzan Kuda and Christian Fennesz have all already contributed to the series, which also comes with video art by New York collective Zakkubalan. Arto Lindsay features alongside Sakamoto, Anderson and Zakkubalan on this latest instalment of incomplete, which will be premiered tomorrow (June 24) via the Festival de Cannes / Marche Du Film website from 7pm (CEST).

This is the latest project to emerge from Sakamoto who’s kept busy in lockdown with the sharing of a concert video last month called Playing The Piano For The Isolated, and an older concert video called Playing The Orchestra 2014 in April.

He also scored Luca Guadagnino’s latest short film, The Staggering Girl, earlier this year.
