Floating Points is to release a new single next month via Ninja Tune.
Led by the track ‘LesAlpx’, which you can hear above, the single is the producer’s first solo release since 2017. The track will be accompanied by ‘Coorabell’ on the single, which will be available digitally and on vinyl.
"It’s essentially the sound of me having loads of fun with the machines in my studio and going back to basics," the producer says of the new record. "I started going back to my early records and all the sounds I loved playing at clubs like fabric and Plastic People. I wanted to capture the immediacy of that music and the feeling that I got when I was on the dance floor, of being immersed in a track that pulls you along instantly."
Ninja Tune will release LesAlpx / Coorabell on July 12. Earlier this year, Floating Points helmed an instalment of the long-running Late Night Tales compilation series.
