Beastie Boys’ two surviving founding members ADROCK and Mike D will oversee a new memoir on the hip hop trio which will be published by Spiegel & Grau later this year.
Beastie Boys Book will trace the group’s history in their own words across 600 pages, from their beginnings as a hardcore band in the early 1980s to their success as a hip hop group which saw them sign to Def Jam and release records such as Licensed To Ill, Paul’s Boutique and Hello Nasty. The book will include anecdotes from ADROCK and Mike D, as well as rare photos, illustrations, a graphic novel, a map of the trio’s New York and mixtape playlists. There are also contributions from the likes of Wes Anderson and Spike Jonze.
Spiegel & Grau will publish Beastie Boys Book on October 30. For more information, head here.
