Early last year, Uli Behringer revealed plans for a new line of affordable analogue synths from the company he owns with a new range of affordable Eurorack modules announced last month coming good on that promise.
Now Behringer has unveiled a prototype of its new Rhythm Designer RD-808, a drum machine which the company is modelling on Roland’s much loved TR-808. You can check out a preview video, showing some of its features, via the Sonic State-produced video above.
The drum machine is almost identical to Roland’s but as Resident Advisor reports, it comes with a few notable updates. There are 11 independent analogue outputs allowing users to record patterns as multi-track audio and users can also sync MIDI data via USB if they wish to do so.
In addition to this TR-808 clone, Behringer has also announced plans to clone a variety of other synths such as the TR-909, Minimoog and ARP 2600.
