Loren Connors – As Roses Bow: Collected Airs 1992-2002
I’ve been listening to Loren Connors for a long time. My connection goes via (fellow experimental folkie) Vashti Bunyan, who I worked with some years ago. With Conners there is an ambient quality – a "pure colour" aspect. He’s creating guitar landscapes and is a very interesting storyteller. Music is for me a storytelling medium. A good artist tells you "this is how it is for me to get through the day, that is my experience". Loren Connors does that in an impressive manner. He evokes a set of feelings and attitudes about what it is to be alive. And he makes incredibly diverse and beautiful music.
