First track taken from second album, CULTURE OF VOLUME

East India Youth has just unveiled the video for the first track to be taken from his second album, CULTURE OF VOLUME. 'Carousel' is the, well, really very beautiful song that EIY's William Doyle debuted at the close of his gig at Heaven last year. A six-minute crescendo of a track, moving from hymnal organ, string swells and vocals vaulting skywards into a grandiose, noise-flecked coda, Doyle said of it in a tweet: "I premiered CAROUSEL back in Nov at my London show. It's a very important song to me so I wanted to share it." He's since added that the video has been directed by manager (and previous tQ contributor) Andy Inglis. Watch it above.

Doyle announced the album last week. It'll be his first for XL, following the release of his debut, TOTAL STRIFE FOREVER, through Stolen last year, and was self-recorded and produced, with Graham Sutton on mixing duties and artwork from Dan Tombs. Take a look at the cover below, while his next UK date, following shows in Denmark, Japan, Norway and the US, will be in support of Jon Hopkins at Brixton Academy on April 24; full details are over at his website, where you can pre-order the album, set for release on April 6.
