I've lost track of Andy Votel's Finders Keepers label in recent years, they're so prolific these days. But at their best, they delve into a scene and present the cream of it. I wouldn't have known where to start with Welsh language pop. Wales had its own equivalent to Top Of The Pops in the early seventies called Disc A Dawn - Meic Stevens sang the theme, and people like Sidan and Heather Jones were on, who are both slightly other-worldly, but steadfastly 1972 at the same time. The musical equivalent of The Owl Service.
