DEVIN TOWNSEND (Strapping Young Lad)

Most Prog-Nutty Guitarist (Canadian division)

FACTOID! He pronounces ‘about’ as ‘aboat’.

Combining death metal, traditional heavy metal and epic atmospherics to create music which is unlike any other, the Canadian singer-songwriter Devin Townsend is a law unto himself. Admitting that he has a nervous breakdown after every record (of which there have been many, issued under various guises) and with a habit of mocking his own receding hairline, Townsend is a mad professor of metal, channelling his eccentric worldview into albums by Strapping Young Lad, his own Devin Townsend Band and those released under his own name.
