Instant Classic Returns From Two-Year Hiatus

The Polish label's first release since April 2020 is a debut album from improvisation trio Hinode Tapes

Instant Classic has returned from a two-year hiatus that began in mid-2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Polish label will mark its return with the release of a self-titled debut album by Polish improvisation trio Hinode Tapes later this week. The record blends elements of free jazz, post-rock and ambient music, and makes use of saxophone, guitar, electronics and various forms of percussion across its five pieces. You can preview the record by listening to lead track ‘#2’ just below.

Instant Classic’s last release before its hiatus, an album by Dynasonic called #2, was released in April 2020. Before that, the label had released a steady stream of records by artists from across the Polish underground music scene – many of which featured among tQ’s round-ups of the year’s best albums.

Instant Classic will release Hinode Tapes on August 26, 2022.
