Black Midi Unveil New Track, ‘Eat Men Eat’

It's the second cut to be unveiled from forthcoming album 'Hellfire'

black midi have shared a new song and accompanying video, ‘Eat Men Eat’.

The track, which is the second cut to be unveiled from forthcoming album Hellfire, tells the story of a couple’s bid to overcome a militaristic Mine Captain. More than 50 fan-submitted recordings are layered at the end of the song, alongside palmas and various other percussive elements recorded by Spanish percussionist Demi García Sabat. Watch the video for the track above.

The nine-track Hellfire, originally announced last month, was written in isolation in London shortly after the release of the band’s second album, Cavalcade, in May 2021. Comparing that record with the new album, black midi’s Geordie Greep previously said in a statement, "If Cavalcade was a drama, Hellfire is like an epic action film."

Rough Trade will release Hellfire on July 15, 2022.
