TQ favourites These New Puritans have unveiled their latest single, ‘Anti-Gravity’ with a video which you can watch above.
‘Anti-Gravity’ is the third track to be shared from their upcoming new album, which is titled Inside The Rose. The album was announced last week along with a video for the title track, while lead song ‘Into The Fire’ preceded that late last year.
The new track is about "a person or moment suspending your disbelief and bending the rules of the world," says the group’s Jack Barnett. Fellow member and brother George Barnett adds: "irony won’t save you from anything."
The track is heavily inspired by the work of William Blake, and they relate the song to his quote: "The imagination is not a state, it is human existence itself." The brothers say that the track’s lyrics also take cues from Francis Bacon.
New album Inside The Rose is out on March 22, and the band will play London Rough Trade East on the same date.
