Incubate Announces First Names!

Another stormer from our Netherlands pals!

Incubate, one of The Quietus’ favourite places to be during festival season, has just announced the first batch of names for its 2015 lineup. And it’s quite the formidable list… for a starters we’re hoisting a massive OOOOOOOF as they’ve booked half our favourite heavy electronics-mongers, including Perc & Truss, AnD, Forward Strategy Group, Samuel Kerridge, Burial Hex and Factory Floor. Does the presence of Truss and FWDSG’s Al Matthews mean we might get a Blacknecks set? Here’s hoping.

The rest of the initial 29 artists including Cabaret Voltaire, Mark Kozolek/Sun Kil Moon and an orchestral performance by Mercury Rev. The festival, which will take place from September 14-20, sees over 300 performers take over 20-plus venues across the Dutch city of Tilburg. Perc & Truss will also celebrate 10 years of the Perc Trax label at a series of shows on September 19 – let us not forget that it was a Dutch MC yelling "Perc un Troooooooos" at a stream of one of their sets that alerted us to their united greatness last year. As ever at Incubate, bands will perform in pubs, theatres and churches, with acts selected to provide something beyond the standard festival experience. Also on the bill are People’s Temple, The Warlocks, Indian Jewelry, K-X-P, Solids, Sterling Roswell, Brahma Loka, Andrew Hung, Xosar, Ekman, Giant Sand, Jad Fair and Norman Blake and Jeffrey Lewis, among others.

Vincent Koreman, artistic director of Incubate, promised that the festival will continue this approach in the years to come. He said: “For the coming years, Incubate is focusing more and more on presenting unique projects and special concerts. This way we can offer new experiences for artists and audiences alike, that you can’t find anywhere in the world. This keeps our festival unique, and we see that artists and partners are willing to build this with us. Some artists we’re announcing today have even rescheduled their holidays for the opportunity to play on Incubate on their own artistic terms."

Early bird tickets for the festival are available now, with weekend and day tickets still to come. For more information and tickets please visit the Incubate website.
