To say that we’re excited about Perc Trax’ upcoming tenth birthday party would be an understatement. With Slowly Exploding (which shares its name with the equally sterling anniversary compilation released last year; read our review here), on February 28 at Corsica Studios, already packing a Factory Floor live set, Powell, Randomer, Ansome, Nik Void and Avus, as well as a three-hour set from Perc and Truss, it’s something of an embarrassment of riches.
Now, though, with the final additions to the bill made comes the news that we’re in fact a part of the celebrations. As well as Pete Swanson, who uses a Table of Evil (/synths) to corrode your ears over the course of mere minutes – "the audio equivalent of being attacked by a horde of flesh eating metal wasps," reported back Mat Colegate, barely fending off the onslaught at Incubate 2013 – tQ’s own Hamburger Ladies join the line-up, opening up proceedings in the second room with a two-hour set. But what will they bring to the occasion, you ask? Say they: "Randy amateurism and angst music for sex people from tQ’s thruppeny knee tremblers Hamburger Ladies, known to make birthday parties wish they’d never been born while simultaneously provoking illicit acts behind giant vats of booze. Bring wet wipes." Tickets are here and a stream of Slowly Exploding is below, while Kleenex Splash ‘N Go! are available from most branches of Boots.
