Huoratron Announces New EP, Acid Reign

Finnish electronics behemoth-cum-nutter releasing three-track record in July

The last time we saw Huoratron, he was wreaking havoc upon the foundations of a Dutch music hall through his head-whipping EDM, gargantuan bass, an exceedingly well-follicled beard and the power contained therein, and now he’s announced a new EP, Acid Reign, out on July 7. It’ll be out on Last Gang Records and marks the return of the hyper-perfectionist producer (he’s only deemed three tracks worthy of release) following his 2012 debut album Cryptocracy.

Says Aku Raski, the man himself: "As always, my work is informed by my perception of salient events in world politics and the global economy, but also by the growth and increasing unity of mind apparent in the music of Huoratron. It’s becoming better and the seams on the Frankenstein are disappearing."

So far, we’ve only got the snatch of music in the trailer above to go on, but he may well be unveiling more from the EP at three upcoming live shows – tomorrow, May 16, at Tavastia Klubi in Helsinki, Finland, May 22 at The Guvernment, Toronto, Canada, with Last Gang label mates MSTRKRFT and Purity Ring, and a yet-to-be confirmed venue in Toulouse, France, alongside Proxy – and stay tuned to the site for a feature-length interview with Raski.
