Possessed of a title more appetite-crushing than yellow fever, and the closest they’ll come to a festive heart-warmer, here’s Fat White Family’s new track, ‘Wet Hot Beef’. It’s set for release on Christmas Day on a split EP with Trashmouth Records label mates Taman Shud, and it’s their longest effort yet, a three-part, ten-minute cut, shifting from their trademark dank sewer-rock through to a nicely unhinged bit of psychedelic knees-up before a surprisingly tender, closely-recorded guitar and vocals segment, singer Lias Saudi gently invoking a sentiment of pure seasonal mirth, "Wake up, we’re ready for your soul."
They’ll be launching the EP with a show at London’s 100 Club next Tuesday, December 10, DJed by the Quietus’ John Doran and Luke Turner; get hold of tickets for that here, read our review of the band’s debut Champagne Holocaust, look at them eating dry, hot beef here and listen to the track below:
