Mary Lattimore Details New Album, ‘Goodbye, Hotel Arkada’

She's also shared a video for lead cut 'And Then He Wrapped His Wings Around Me'

Mary Lattimore has shared details of a new album, titled Goodbye, Hotel Arkada.

Spanning six tracks, the record takes in contributions from Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell and The Cure’s Lol Tolhurst, among others. It takes its name from a decades-old hotel that Lattimore visited on the Croatian island of Hvar, which recently underwent renovation. To mark the album’s announcement, she’s shared a video for lead track ‘And Then He Wrapped His Wings Around Me’, which features vocal contributions from Meg Baird and accordion from Walt McClements. In a statement about Goodbye, Hotel Arkada, Lattimore said: "When I think of these songs, I think about fading flowers in vases, melted candles, getting older, being on tour and having things change while you’re away, not realising how ephemeral experiences are until they don’t happen anymore, fear for a planet we’re losing because of greed, an ode to art and music that’s really shaped your life that can transport you back in time, longing to maintain sensitivity and to not sink into hollow despondency."

Ghostly International will release Goodbye, Hotel Arkada on October 6, 2023.
