Xiu Xiu Share Cover Of ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me’ Track

The group recorded the cover of Angelo Badalamenti's 'A Real Indication' during the sessions for 2016's 'Plays The Music Of Twin Peaks' album

Xiu Xiu have shared a cover of Angelo Badalamenti’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me track ‘A Real Indication’.

The track was originally recorded during the sessions for the group’s 2016 album Plays The Music Of Twin Peaks, but never made it to the final release. It features contributions from drummer David Kendrick and double bassist Jherek Bischoff, the original producer of Plays The Music Of Twin Peaks, and is being released now to mark the fifth anniversary of the album. You can listen to the cover above.

Speaking about the track, Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart says: "Until Angela [Seo] and I read an interview with David Lynch wherein he described his doubt that Angelo Badalamenti would be able to do the vocals on ‘A Real Indication’, but then was left laughing on the floor in delight at what an amazing job he did, we were confused by the song. We always loved it but thought it was a song from outside the Twin Peaks universe; a song by other artists that they used on the soundtrack. When we read this interview and realised how deeply it in fact was in the universe AND had Angelo Badalamenti singing, we regretted not including it on Plays The Music Of Twin Peaks.

‘A Real Indication’ is out now on Polyvinyl.
