Four Haruomi Hosono Albums From 1985 To Be Reissued

'The Endless Talking', 'Mercuric Dance', 'Paradise View' and 'Coincidental Music' are all newly available on vinyl for the first time in 35 years

Four albums by former Yellow Magic Orchestra member Haruomi Hosono, originally released in 1985, are being reissued on vinyl.

The new editions of The Endless Talking, Mercuric Dance, Paradise View and Coincidental Music mark the first time all four albums have been officially made available on vinyl since their 1985 release, with Hosono’s Monad Records, which was responsible for putting them out originally, overseeing the reissues.

The Endless Talking comprises music made specially for an installation in Italy, while Mercuric Dance was produced as the score for an ambient film by Arai Tadayoshi. Paradise View was another score, this time for Goh Takamine’s film of the same name, and Coincidental Music collects music made for commercials between 1982 and 1985, taking in 11 pieces that were made for Japanese companies such as probiotic milk company Yakult and cosmetics giant Shiseido. All four albums are available for pre-order via Phonica Records.

The reissues follow on from the remaster and re-release of two of Hosono’s solo LPs, omni Sight Seeing and MEDICINE COMPILATION, by Light In The Attic late last year.

Monad Records and Teichiku Entertainment Inc will release The Endless Talking, Mercuric Dance, Paradise View and Coincidental Music on March 31, 2021.
