Rewire Shares Details Of 2021 Online Edition

Aïsha Devi, Lee Gamble and loads more are involved

Dutch festival Rewire is holding an online edition of the event this May.

Taking place across four days, a number of artists will play special audiovisual-focused sets, while there’s also a programme of talks and workshops. A number of artists have been brought together remotely for new collaborative projects birthed in isolation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Japanese saxophonist Yasuaku Shimizu has been connected with Canadian electroacoustic composer Kara-Lis Coverdale for one remote collaboration, while Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe will present a project alongside harpist Zeena Parkins. Elsewhere, Peruvian turntablist Maria Chavez is set to present work alongside Italian percussionist Valentina Magaletti, and Nyege Nyege Tapes affiliates Duma will debut an audiovisual piece with Arca collaborator Jesse Kanda.

Aïsha Devi, Lee Gamble, Tara Clerkin Trio and Space Afrika are among the other artists presenting new work for Rewire.

Rewire will take place from May 5 to 9, 2021. Find more information here.
