East London Pub The Gun Announces Charity Compilation

Nitzer Ebb, Róisín Murphy and more have contributed tracks to 'Gun Aid'

East London pub The Gun is releasing a 14-track charity compilation this April.

Gun Aid is described by the currently closed East London hotspot as "a collection of tracks gifted from our beloved friends who have stepped in when we’ve needed them most." All the artists who’ve contributed tracks to the release, except Róisín Murphy, have played DJ sets at the pub.

In addition to Murphy, Gun Aid takes in new and unreleased tracks by Nitzer Ebb, Daniel Avery, Richard Sen, Ivan Smagghe and C.A.R., among others. You can preview clips of all 14 tracks on the compilation above.

The Gun has set up a record label, The Gun Well St., through which the compilation will be released. Proceeds from the release will go towards supporting the pub itself while it remains closed, as well as local causes. Charity project Hackney Quest, which has been supporting people in the area since 1988, will distribute the proceeds. The Gun has set up a dedicated Bandcamp page for the label.

The Gun Well St. will release Gun Aid on April 2, 2021.
