Kim Gordon To Release Book, ‘No Icon’

It features personal photographs, writing, lyrics and more

Kim Gordon has a book on the way.

No Icon tells the story of the artist’s life and work, from growing up in California through the ’60s and ’70s to founding Sonic Youth and becoming part of New York City’s burgeoning music and arts scene through the ’80s and ’90s.

The 272-page book takes in previously unpublished personal photographs as well as Gordon’s own writing, song lyrics and artwork. Her life and work is also illustrated via magazine and newspaper clippings and fashion editorials and advertising campaigns.

Rizzoli will publish No Icon on October 13, 2020.
