Sarah Davachi Lines Up Live Album, ‘Figures In Open Air’

"I had a lot of touring plans for this year, and so for now I offer 'Figures In Open Air' in lieu of the live interactions that I hope to resume one day soon," she says

Sarah Davachi is following up the recent release of her studio album, Cantus, Descant, with a new live album.

Titled Figures In Open Air, it’s described by the US multi-instrumentalist as "a compliment of sorts" to Cantus, Descant. It clocks in at almost three hours and sees Davachi focusing on performances for pipe organ and solo electronics. You can listen to a live version of her track ‘Diaphonia Basilica’, which originally featured on Cantus, Descant, above.

"You’ll hear a number of pieces from the album, including two versions of ‘Diaphonia Basilica’, ‘Gold Upon White’, ‘Ruminant’, and an instrumental version of ‘Canyon Walls’, performed at some of my favourite venues around the world, including The Lab in San Francisco, Église du Gesù in Montréal, Roter Salon in Berlin, and Rockefeller Memorial Chapel in Chicago," Davachi says of the live album. "I had a lot of touring plans for this year, and so for now I offer Figures In Open Air in lieu of the live interactions that I hope to resume one day soon."

Late Music will release Figures In Open Air on November 6, 2020.
