Deep Listening Reissue Marks 30th Anniversary

Pauline Oliveros, Stuart Dempster and Panaiotis' landmark album will be repressed to vinyl for the first time later this month

Deep Listening, the 1989 album by Pauline Oliveros, Stuart Dempster and Panaiotis, will be reissued for the first time later this month to mark its 30th anniversary.

Important Records will oversee the reissue which will feature the original studio recording as well as some tracks from The Ready Made Boomerang, a 1991 album by The Deep Listening Band, of which Oliveros, Dempster and Panaiotis formed a part.

Oliveros, Dempster and Panaiotis recorded Deep Listening with no pre-set plan or written score inside a cistern using live electronics, vocals, trombone and accordion.

The 2xLP reissue will be packaged in a gatefold sleeve with original and updated recollections from all three performers as well as the recording engineer, Al Swanson. There will also be a mesostic poem from John Cage.

Important Records will reissue Deep Listening on January 31.
