New Club Called Cotton To Open In Manchester

Juan Atkins, Shackleton and SPFDJ all feature amongst the opening season's line-ups

A new club is set to open next month in Manchester.

The 200-capacity Cotton is a basement space housed in a former printing press in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The club’s organisers have said that they hope to prioritise women and non-binary as well as LGBTQ+ artists within their line-ups.

"We want Cotton to be a truly safe and inclusive space for all," Cotton’s Anton Stevens said, as Resident Advisor reports. "We believe that if you’re going to start something new, it should share the same modern values reflective of everyone that resides here."

The club will open on September 13th with a line-up featuring Umwelt and local DJ Phoebe Valentine. Dopplereffekt, Juan Atkins, Shackleton, SPFDJ, LSDXOXO, rRoxymore, Regis, Rrose and Bleaching Agent are all also locked in for appearances between September and November.
