Lee “Scratch” Perry & Adrian Sherwood To Release New LP

Lee "Scratch" Perry's new album is the "most intimate" he's ever made, according to Adrian Sherwood

Lee "Scratch" Perry is to reunite with longtime collaborator Adrian Sherwood for a new album, titled Rainford, which is due in May. Above, you can hear lead track ‘African Starship’.

Rainford is made up of nine tracks and is, according to Sherwood, the "most intimate" album Perry has ever made. "At the same time the musical ideas are very fresh," Sherwood adds. "I’m extremely proud of what we’ve come up with as a piece of work."

Perry and Sherwood’s collaborations stretch back to the 1980s with the latter helming the On-U Sound label which will release Rainford on May 10. The album came about following a two-year process of writing, recording and production. You can pre-order it here.
