Book Charting Early Years Of Mayhem

Black Metal band's early years collected in new book by member Jorn ’Necrobutcher’ Stubberud from the original line-up

The Death Archives: Mayhem 1984-94 is a new book documenting the first years of one of Black Metal’s most influential bands, Mayhem.

Put together by the band’s Jorn ’Necrobutcher’ Stubberud, the book collects photographs from those years alongside quotes from video diaries and memorabilia to provide the most concise document of the band’s first decade. The book contains never before seen photographs including live stills from their earliest gigs as well as some of their first photo-sessions as a band.

With the book set for official release on June 6, there will be a special launch event at Rough Trade East on June 2 which will see Stubberud in conversation with Thurston Moore. The conversation will be followed by a book signing. You can get book a ticket for that and buy a copy of the book by clicking here.
