Erykah Badu - New Amerykah part I
This is an underrated masterpiece. I'm so mad that this isn't canon at this point. It's just genius. For me it's a big deal because she's one of my favourite artists, and here she got political as fuck. She got political in a really feminine way too. She wrote this almost from the perspective of motherhood, wanting the world to be better. I'm so happy that she talks about it from a black perspective. Every time I listen to this album it sounds new to me.
