Bonnacons Of Doom At Rocket Anniversary

Bonnacons Of Doom serve up 30 minutes of feedback-drenched psych rock at last month's Rocket Recordings 20th anniversary

The latest in our series of video highlights from last month’s weekend-long Rocket Recordings 20th anniversary party in London comes courtesy of Bonnacons Of Doom.

The band are more closely tied with the God Unknown label which has released previous records of theirs, but they will soon release their debut album with Rocket Recordings. A self-titled album, it is set for release on May 18, and the above set features new tracks from that album including lead track ‘Solus’ which we premiered here on tQ last month.

"The album is full of found sound from different religious traditions buried in the mix," explains Rob from the group about their upcoming debut. "By using that cut-up approach we want to be the opposite of controlling – we want people to project what’s important to them on the experience, to create their own ritualistic meanings."

The band also take in older material across the 30 minutes captured above by IMPATV, who were on hand to video all of the highlights from the party at The Garage in London in mid-March. Check these pages on Thursday for more from IMPATV and Rocket Recordings’ 20th anniversary celebrations.
