Italy’s Terraforma Festival has confirmed a further wave of names for this year’s event, with GAS, Aurora Halal and more joining the bill.
Also newly announced for the festival are Mala, Rashad Becker and L.U.C.A., who all join the previously announced Andrew Weatherall, Suzanne Ciani, Laraaji and Arpanet.
The organisers will also preview this year’s festival with a pair of special events at Milan’s BASE (April 22) and Rome’s Ex Dogma (April 25), featuring the debut in Italy of the Japanese Killasan sound system. The events will be run alongside Carhartt WIP and act as a showcase for Berlin’s Wax Treatment collective. The system is known for its weighty, unique sound, built specially for playing dub, reggae and dancehall, and has a longstanding connection with Berlin’s Hard Wax.
The main festival takes place from June 23-25 at Milan’s Villa Arconati. Its unique setting consists of a national monument constructed in the 18th century, complete with courtyard gardens, a church and a statue of Roman of Tiberius. The festival also has a strong sustainability mission to its operations, having last year overseen the restoration of a network of tunnels surrounding the Villa Arconti.
