Bob Dylan - Tempest
This is his most recent record of originals - he put out a Sinatra record [Shadows In The Night ] this year. The back half of Tempest is where all the real dark gold is. I like this record because, to me, he finally sounds clinically insane.

One big thing that changed me was that I finally saw Bob Dylan play live when I turned 40. It was during the tour that he did for Tempest and I couldn't believe it. It was like a veil was lifted and I finally understood everything that one was supposed to be doing on stage. It was the biggest piece of performance art I've ever witnessed in my entire life. It goes without saying that he didn't play a single song from Tempest.
