Quietus favourite and one of the UK’s finest practitioners of brutally funky, noise-laced techno music Ali Wells, aka Perc, has announced the upcoming release of his second album, the follow up to 2011’s storming Wicker & Steel. Titled The Power & The Glory, it’s set for release through his own label Perc Trax on February 17th, and promises to "take the Perc sound and expand it outward in every direction". This, of course, is Good News, and has had the Quietus offices throwing triumphant techno fists in the air since word of the album’s existence reached us.
Across its ten tracks we’re told it’ll cross markedly wider terrain than its predecessor, from less overtly club-oriented material to full scale dancefloor blasters, and also features guest vocal appearances from Factory Floor’s Nik Colk Void (who previously remixed a track by Forward Strategy Group for Perc Trax) and Dethscalator’s Dan Chandler.
The album will be accompanied by a tour featuring Perc’s new, hardware-based live show, and will be released on vinyl, CD and DL formats. The album’s rather fetching artwork is above.
