LISTEN: Imbogodom - Voices Of Lists
Laurie Tuffrey , September 25th, 2013 10:15

First track from new album Metafather

Imbogodom are set to release their third album, Metafather, the concluding part of their BBC Bush House trilogy, on October 14 via Thrill Jockey.

The duo comprise Alexander Tucker, one half of Grumbling Fur, whose album Glynnaestra has been a mainstay of the tQ stereo this year, and Daniel Beban, Orchestra of Spheres and Slakes man and radio engineer for the BBC World Service, which, until 2012, was housed in the mammoth Bush House building in Aldwych, London.

From 2006 to 2011, Beban and Tucker made use of the huge sonic potential held in the building's vast interior, as well as some of the antique equipment in Studio 6, recording in the dead of night and forging songs lined with the haunting matter they coaxed from Bush House.

Metafather follows 2010's The Metallic Year and And They Turned Not When They Went the year after, and, ahead of its release, we've got a first taste of what to expect. 'Voices Of Lists' takes the intricate guitar work and clarion vocals typical of Tucker and winds through them echoing, seeping planes of sound, reverberations from their nocturnal recording sessions - have a listen below and head to Thrill Jockey to order the album, which will only be available on limited edition vinyl:
