First names for Newcastle festival include Keiji Haino, Pelt and Hieroglyphic Being

Following on from last year's first edition, Newcastle upon Tyne's TUSK Festival have announced that they will be returning again this year. Running from October 5th-7th, proceedings will hinge around a single venue, the Star & Shadow, and feature a number of names from the experimental/noise/dance underground.

The festival have now announced an impressive first raft of acts for the weekend: Japanese noise legend Keiji Haino (pictured above), Chicago's purveyor of dilapidated disco and Afrofuturist club noise Hieroglyphic Being, drone crew Pelt, and Gate, a side project of The Dead C's Michael Morley. Across the course of the weekend a number of panel discussions, films, workshops and installations will also be taking place.

Early bird tickets for the entire weekend are on sale at £25.00 a pop from here. Day tickets will be going on sale soon, keep an eye out for more info at the festival's website.
