Poland’s Oramics Collective Releases Charity Compilation

Featuring music from Peder Mannerfelt, Lee Gamble and more, the 113-track release is a response to surging anti-LGBTQ violence in Poland and elsewhere

Queer Polish collective Oramics has put together a new charity compilation called Total Solidarity with proceeds from the release set to go to two queer grassroots organisations in Poland.

Total Solidarity takes in 113 tracks overall and features music from the likes of Peder Mannerfelt, Lee Gamble, object blue, Varg, Rui Ho, Dale Cornish, Borusiade and Drvg Cvltvre, whose New York Haunted label will oversee the compilation’s release alongside Oramics.

The compilation has been pulled together in response to increasing violence against and hostility towards LGBTQIA+ people in Poland, including homophobic abuse at a Pride march last month in the city of Białystok. Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the leader of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party, previously described queer culture as "a threat to Polish identity".

Polish organisations Kampania Przeciw Homofobii and Miłość Nie Wyklucza will receive the funds and work to redistribute them to a number of grassroots charity organisations working to fight back against the hostility.

Total Solidarity will receive a full release on August 17. You can preview some of its tracks below and pre-order it here.
