Zos Kia was a group made up of Coil’s John Balance, Mekon’s John Gosling and Min, as well as occasional contributions from Throbbing Gristle’s Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson. Their one and only album, Transparent, was released in cassette format in 1983 as the first released recordings of the group, even before any Coil music was released, by the now closed Austrian label Nekrophile.
Now, that album will be reissued over three decades later in an with the entire unedited recordings to be made available on vinyl and CD for the first time ever having been remastered from the original tapes. The reissue will also feature bonus tracks from Ake, a pre-Zos Kia project. The album is even darker and industrial-rooted than much of the Coil material that followed its release offering a very early insight into the work of the bands that made up the group. Transparent will be reissued in a double vinyl edition with gatefold sleeve featuring a 12" booklet of unseen images as well as a limited white vinyl edition, of which there will only be 500 available. It will all be reissued by Cold Spring and will be available from November 11.
