Last weekend saw the return of Supersonic festival to Birmingham with yet another unbeatable line-up that boasted the likes of Gazelle Twin, Shirley Collins and Moor Mother amongst many others.
Yunohana Variations, the collaborative project of Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Susie Ibarra and Yoshimio, also played at the festival and part of their expansive set was captured on camera and can now be watch above.
The set marked the group’s first live appearance in the UK and comes amidst a tour of the UK taking place as part of the Outlands programme which sees a network of promoters of experimental music from around the country come together to programme a series of special events and tours. Supersonic festival are at the helm of this tour.
The tour continues tonight (June 29) at Milton Keynes’ MK Gallery before going on to Bristol’s Arnolfini tomorrow with further appearances in Manchester, Bradford and Plymouth to come after that.
