Fresh from her stint curating the Meltdown Festival at the Southbank this month and having recently celebrated her 80th birthday, Yoko Ono has just announced the release of a new LP with the Plastic Ono Band, out September 16.
Take Me To The Land Of Hell will be released on Chimera Music, four years after her last, critically acclaimed album Between My Head And The Sky. The record has been produced by Ono herself, her son Sean Lennon and Yuka Honda, with the Plastic Ono Band now featuring tUnEyArDs, ?uestlove, Nels Cline and Andrew Wyatt.
You can listen to the orchestrally ambient and experimentally energetic first single from the record, ‘Moonbeams’ below:
Talking about the record, Ono said that despite being 80, "the energy I have right now, and the desire to continue to make as much great work as I can, is really moving me forwards all the time. This album is the culmination of a lot of ideas I’ve been having over the last few years and I feel proud to release it at such an exciting time of my life.”
